Representatives from 20 NFL teams were on hand at BYU’s pro day on Friday, when players worked out indoors on FieldTurf. Daniel Sorensen, FS (6-foot-1 3/8, 206 pounds) — Sorsensen ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 and 4.59 seconds. He had a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-2 broad jump. He stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine in the other drills. Sorensen had an impressive workout, displaying good ball skills. He helped his draft status at BYU’s pro day, and now has a chance to be selected early on the third day of the 2014 NFL Draft (fourth round). Eleven players worked out indoors on FieldTurf at BYU’s pro day on March 28. Scouts and personnel from 18 NFL teams were present, including the offensive coordinator from Oakland and Philadelphia.
Former BYU RB Harvey Unga (6-foot-1, 244 pounds) worked out in front of 20 teams Thursday ahead of next week’s supplemental draft.
Austin Collie, 24 years old because he went on a Mormon mission while in college, made his mark in positional drills at his workout. He apparently wowed the scouts with his catching ability.
