A reminder of how far the NFL rookies have to go to catch up to the veterans…

Before I jump in the car and drive to Owings Mills for Ravens rookie mini-camp, I just wanted to mention one thing that stuck in my mind from my trip to St. Louis on Friday. It was, by all accounts, a successful experience for the participants. But what does that mean? Basically, that they only began the methodical process of figuring stuff out. Seriously, I was reminded once again how far these rookies are from being ready. And it has nothing to do with talent, obviously. We still have more than eight hours until the NFL Draft, and it can’t come fast enough. Seriously. All this buildup, say the names already. Can’t believe we have to wait until 8 p.m. Eastern to get this rolling. But still, while we’re just hanging out, might as well be productive. So, I’m based here in Dallas for NFL Network, and I’ve been at Valley Ranch with the Cowboys all week.
