The free-agent market has been stripped of most of the headline names, but teams are still actively filling gaps and signing their own restricted free agents. Among those who found homes Monday was DE Cory Redding, who reached terms on a two-year contract with the Ravens.
The Jets will tender contracts to versatile WR Brad Smith and safety Eric Smith, Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum told the team’s official Web site Monday.
Jets LB Vernon Gholston is out for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.
Jets CB Lito Sheppard and WR Brad Smith will not be active against the Dolphins. Sheppard and Smith are both battling quadriceps injuries.
