Coach Gary Kubiak has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Texans, he told the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday.

Texans owner Bob McNair doesn’t want any more questions about coach Gary Kubiak‘s status. So, McNair told the Houston Chronicle on Monday, he and Kubiak are working on a contract extension that could run through 2013 — and maybe longer.

As reported earlier by NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson cleared waivers Tuesday and is now officially a free agent. And, of course, teams are already being discussed as having interest in his services.
