Jets TE Keller likely to hear about drop

Rookie tight end Dustin Keller took a lashing in the media from Eric Mangini earlier this week for dropping a key third down pass against the 49ers. Mangini said it was time for rookies to not be rookies anymore. What do you think Keller is going to hear on the sidelines after dropping a touchdown pass on third down with his team up just one point and the season on the line?

Bettis once had blazing speed

A couple more notes as I sit here next to Jerome Bettis in the press box. And upon watching Roscoe Parrish‘s blazing 56-yard return with 4:27 left in the second quarter, I asked Bettis if he’d ever run that fast in his life. He said, “Only when his mom was chasing him when he was two.”

Jets RB Jones scores record-breaking touchdown

Jets running back Thomas Jones set a club record by scoring a touchdown in eight consecutive games. He also set two other club records — most touchdowns in a season (15) — breaking a deadlock with Curtis Martin, Don Maynard, Art Powell and Emerson Boozer — and most rushing touchdowns in a season (13).

Clowney, Hamdan look to make season debuts

Jets receiver David Clowney and Bills quarterback Gibran Hamdan have taken interesting roads to get to Sunday’s game. Both players hope to make their season debuts today.
