Halfway through the fourth quarter, an apparently inebriated fan jumped out of the Gillette Stadium stands and actually tackled Patriots LB Junior Seau on the sideline. The fan was, of course, forcefully removed from the field while being pelted with snowballs from five other fans who were still left in the stands.

It’s still early, but if this score stands 41-0, it would match the largest shutout victory in Patriots history. Forty-seven years ago this week, they shut out the Chargers 41-0. Even Junior Seau wasn’t there for that one.
Is there anything funnier than a snow angel being flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct? By the way, that’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen from the very businesslike Wes Welker. Snow brings the kid out in everyone.
The Patriots are 9-0 all-time in snow games at Gillette Stadium. Mike Vrabel is clearly fired up to play in the snow. He was the first player on the field today, running back and forth in the snow to check the footing on the field. He was responsible for getting the Cardinals off the field on their first possession, tackling Tim Hightower for a loss.
An interesting note on the Cardinals running game, which is currently ranked dead last in the league: Without J.J. Arrington in the mix today (knee injury), we may see some more of Edgerrin James. If you haven’t been following his travails, he was benched in the seventh game of the season and replaced by Tim Hightower, and since then he has just seven carries for 15 yards. If you want an unlikely hero in this game, he’d be it. James has averaged 105.6 rushing yards per game in the nine games he’s played against the Patriots.
