A few items on my mind this week after emerging from the film room, starting with the team that gets my vote as the NFL’s most improved.

Injuries have forced the Bills to reshuffle their offensive line against the Tennessee Titans. After LT Demetrius Bell left the game with a knee injury, the Bills moved starting left guard Andy Levitre over to left tackle.

We’ve seen the numbers grow in recent years, but since the merger in 1970, we’ve never seen as many rookie offensive linemen start in Week 1 like we did this past week.

Terrell Owens did not participate in a morning walkthrough with the Bills on Tuesday — it was an excused absence — and was not scheduled to practice during the team’s night session, either, according to a statment released during the afternoon by coach Dick Jauron.

Picks in the top two rounds are agreeing to contracts with greater frequency now, but still a majority of the top picks unsigned.

The Bills become the first NFL team to take the field for camp, doing so Saturday morning, but it will be virtually impossible to have all of their top remain picks signed by then.
