Jets RB coach watches Alabama-Birmingham’s Reaves

Jets running backs coach Anthony Lynn was among the representatives from 15 NFL teams at Alabama-Birmingham’s pro day March 13. Lynn was on hand to see Darrin Reaves (5-6 7/8, 209 pounds), who was not at the combine. Reaves ran the 40 twice in 4.59 seconds against the wind and 4.54 with the wind. He had a 39 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-3 broad jump. He ran the short shuttle in 4.54 and the three-cone drill in 7.07. He also threw the bar up 20 times. He’s likely to be a camp free agent.

Rounding up Coastal Carolina, UAB pro days

Representatives of 27 NFL teams attended the Coastal Carolina pro day to watch CB Josh Norman work out, and OT Matt McCants showed his stuff at Alabama-Birmingham.

UAB’s Webb attempts to make transition to receiver

Joe Webb spent the last two years as the starting quarterback at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), amassing 2,299 yards and 21 touchdowns through the air and 1,619 yards and 11 TDs on the ground in 2009. But Webb will attempt to make it in the NFL as a wide receiver.
