Cowboys hire Linehan to call plays: Never being a group to shy away from out-of-the-box ideas, the Dallas Cowboys have hired former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to call plays. But there’s a twist — the Cowboys are also retaining Bill Callahan to be the team’s offensive coordinator. Linehan spent the past five seasons leading the Lions’ offense and turned them into a top 10 outfit over the past three campaigns. Aaron Dobson excels at Marshall pro day

Marshall hosted 22 teams on March 13 for the school’s pro day. Wide receiver coaches from the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles were among those in attendance. A total of seven players worked out, running the 40-yard dash inside on a rubber track while doing jumps outdoors. Aaron Dobson, WR (6-3, 211) — Despite a relatively quiet season for the Thundering Herd, Dobson impressed with the spotlight on during Marshall’s pro day.
