The Lions are closing in on their first overall selection in this weekend’s draft, be it QB Matthew Stafford, OT Jason Smith or LB Aaron Curry. But while the team isn’t indicating which way it may or may not be leaning, fans gathered for the team’s new logo unveiling voiced their choice for the No.1 overall pick and it was overwhelmingly in favor of the linebacker out of Wake Forest.

The Detroit Lions, the holders of next weekend’s No. 1 draft pick, gave the agents for Wake Forest LB Aaron Curry — Andy Ross and Michael Sullivan — no indication of their plans during a meeting Saturday.

Aaron Curry’s agents, Mike Sulivan and Andy Ross, were seen at a Lions minicamp practice today. NFL.com reached Ross by phone, and the agent said he had “no comment” on how the talk with the Lions went.

The Lions haven’t publicaly settled on a No. 1 pick yet, still choosing between QB Matthew Stafford, LT Jason Smith and LB Aaron Curry. Coach Jim Schwartz told the Detroit Free Press that the Lions will start settling on their draft board this week.

Wake Forest LB Aaron Curry might not be available when the Kansas City Chiefs pick third overall in next month’s NFL draft, but they’re doing their due diligence in case he falls to them. Curry has a private workout scheduled with the Chiefs on April 2-3, then an interview with them on April 14-15.
