Texas coach Mack Brown isn’t at all disappointed Colt McCoy lasted until the 85th overall pick, calling the Browns “a great place” for his former quarterback.

With Browns fans chanting loudly here at Radio City Music Hall, and Longhorns coach Mack Brown striding up to the podium, it was time. “With the 85th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Colt McCoy, quarterback, Texas,” announced a beaming Brown.

It’s pretty rare for a player from Hillsdale College to get drafted, much less in the third round, but don’t count out OT Jared Veldheer. One of the most physically imposing players in the entire 2010 class at 6-foot-8, 312 pounds, Veldheer was a star at the NFL Scouting Combine, finishing as a top performer in nearly every category.
