Representatives from 21 NFL teams were present at Southeastern Louisiana’s pro day on Thursday, when nine players worked out outside on FieldTurf. Todd Washington, CB (5-foot-11 3/8, 192 pounds) Washington — who was at the NFL Scouting Combine — had a toe injury that forced him to miss the final six games of the 2013 season. He still isn’t 100 percent healthy (probably around 80 percent ready), so his numbers in the drills aren’t exactly indicative of his athletic abilities. Washington ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69 and 4.68 seconds. He had a 35 1/2-inch vertical jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.40 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.28 seconds. He didn’t do the bench, having already done […]

More than 150 personnel representing NFL teams — including five head coaches (Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints, Mike Zimmer of the Minnesota Vikings, Rex Ryan of the New York Jets, Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chip Kelly of the Philadelphia Eagles), as well as offensive line coaches from the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers — were present to see 17 athletes work out at LSU’s pro day on Wednesday. The workout was held indoors and run on FieldTurf. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger (6-foot-4 1/2, 229 pounds) is less than five months removed from knee surgery (following a left ACL tear in the Tigers’ regular-season finale), and was unable to […]
In today’s Three and Out: Arian Foster downplays his back surgery; Jermichael Finley and Santonio Holmes continue their job search.
Representatives from 29 NFL teams — including Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly and Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin — were present for Penn State’s pro day on Tuesday, when a workout was held indoors on FieldTurf. Allen Robinson, WR (6-foot 7/8, 207) — Robinson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 and 4.50 seconds (improving on the 4.60 40 from the NFL Scouting Combine). He had a 42-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-11 broad jump. He also did the three-cone drill in 6.54 seconds. Robinson had a great pro-day workout. He looked very good running routes. Robinson’s performance really helped his draft stock a lot. It will push him into a crowded group of talented wide receivers in the 2014 […]
Representatives from 15 NFL teams were on the campus of Arizona State to watch running back Marion Grice go through a workout outdoors on grass on Tuesday. Grice was sidelined late in the 2013 season with a leg injury (Grice missed three games, including the Pac-12 Championship Game and the Holiday Bowl), and was not able to participate in the Sun Devils’ pro day on March 7. Grice (6-foot 1/2, 208 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.68 and 4.69 seconds. He had a 32-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-7 broad jump. He did the three-cone drill in 7.03 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.37 seconds. He also performed 14 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. He […]

Representatives from 12 NFL teams were present at Florida Atlantic’s pro day on Friday for a workout that took place outdoors on FieldTurf. Cornerback Keith Reaser (5-foot-10 3/4, 183 pounds) was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, but the only drill he was able to execute was the bench press. Reaser had knee surgery on Oct. 17, 2013, and then again on Feb. 27, 2014 (performed by Dr. James Andrews). As a result, he will not be able to do any on-field activities until at least September. Randell Johnson, LB (6-foot-3 1/4, 244) — Johnson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.64 and 4.62 seconds. He had a 38 1/2-inch vertical jump and 10-foot broad jump. He had a short shuttle […]
Eastern Washington defensive tackle Andru Pulu worked out Thursday at Federal Way (Wash.) High School. The workout took place outdoors in 50-degree temperatures and a slight wind, and was run on FieldTurf. Pulu had an operation to remove bone spurs on Jan. 7 and only had a couple weeks to prepare for the workout. That workout went alright, given that Pulu got tired due to the brief among to preparation time and not being completely ready due to the injury. Pulu (6-foot-1 3/8, 322 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 5.24 seconds against the wind and 5.15 seconds with the wind. He had a 28-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-6 broad jump. He had a short shuttle time of 4.86 seconds […]
Boston College cornerback Al Louis-Jean worked out Thursday in front of representatives from two NFL teams — the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots — at Brockton (Mass.) High School. The workout took place outdoors and run on FieldTurf, and there were 10-15 mile-per-hour wind gusts. Louis-Jean (6-foot-1 3/8, 187 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds against the wind and 4.53 seconds with the wind. He had a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-5 broad jump. He had a 28-inch vertical jump (which was four inches higher than what he did at the combine). He had an 8-foot-6 broad jump. He also performed 23 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Henderson cut short his pro […]
Representatives from 20 NFL teams were present at Richmond’s pro day on March 18, when three Spiders football players and 14 additional athletes from area small colleges worked out indoors on FieldTurf. Kerry Wynn, DT (6-foot-5, 267 pounds) — Wynn, who was at the NFL Scouting Combine, ran the 40-yard dash just once — in 4.70 seconds — due to a tight right hamstring. He ran the short shuttle in 4.73 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.53 seconds. Wynn has 32 1/4-inch arms. Wynn visited with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, and is probably going to be a third-day selection — sixth or seventh rounds — in the 2014 NFL Draft.
There were representatives from eight NFL teams present at West Alabama’s pro day on March 12, when players ran outdoors on FieldTurf in 56-degree temperatures and 10-20 mile-per-hour wind gusts. Kedrick Rhodes, S (5-foot-10 7/8, 203 pounds) — Rhodes had a really good pro day, as evidenced by his numbers in the workouts. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 and 4.60 seconds.
