Representatives from 16 NFL teams were present in Ames, Iowa, for Iowa State’s pro day, where two potential NFL draft picks worked out. The workout — with the exception of the kicking drills — took place indoors on a FieldTurf playing surface. Jeremiah George, LB (5-foot-11, 228 pounds) — George ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 and 4.68 seconds. He had a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-9 broad jump (which was more than a foot longer than the 9-8 broad jump posted at the NFL Scouting Combine). Rob Blanchflower of UMass does not work out

Representatives from 27 NFL teams showed up at Massachusetts’ pro day on Tuesday, when 14 players worked out outdoors on FieldTurf in 32-degree temperatures. Unfortunately, the player those representatives were on hand to see didn’t work out. Tight end Rob Blanchflower, who was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, is a possible late-round draft choice but was unable to participate in the pro day.

Dixon twins work out at Missouri Western State’s pro day

There were 30 NFL teams represented at Missouri Western State’s pro day on March 21, when five players from Missouri Western State and 18 other players from 10 different area small schools worked out indoors on FieldTurf. Those area small schools with players at the pro day were Central Methodist, Central Missouri, Lincoln University, Missouri Southern State, Missouri Valley College, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Northwest Missouri State, Southeast Missouri State, Southwest Baptist and Truman State. Kendall James of Maine looks like third-day draft pick

Representatives from eight NFL teams were at Maine’s pro day on Monday to check out cornerback Kendall James go through a workout indoors on FieldTurf. James (5-foot-10 1/2, 184 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 and 4.42 seconds. He also had a 10-foot broad jump. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. James had a good pro-day positional workout, displaying good recovery speed and instincts. He is a likely third-day selection (fifth- or sixth-rounder) in the 2014 NFL Draft. James was one of 14 total prospects working out at Maine.

Asa Watson, brother of Ben Watson, a possible draft pick

Representatives from all 32 NFL teams were on hand for North Carolina State’s pro day on Monday. There were 12 prospects who worked out both indoors (for the runs and jumps) and outdoors (for the positional drills). Dontae Johnson, CB (6-foot-2, 198) — Johnson stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Johnson is a tall and lengthy player who had a nice positional workout. Darryl Cato-Bishop, DE (6-2 1/2, 257) — Cato-Bishop ran the 40-yard dash in 4.97 and 4.94 seconds. He had a 29 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-1 broad jump. There were 28 NFL teams represented — including an offensive line and special teams coach from the New England Patriots, a linebackers coach from the New York Jets, and a linebackers and tight ends coach from the Cincinnati Bengals — on hand for Iowa’s pro day on Monday. A total of 13 players worked out indoors on a brand-new FieldTurf surface. Conor Boffeli, G (6-foot-3 7/8, 304 pounds) — Boffeli had a 30-inch vertical jump and did 28 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. ‘Pugs’ Pughsley of Akron could be project-type player in NFL

There were four NFL teams represented at Akron’s pro day on March 21, whn an offensive line prospect who could be a project-type player in the NFL was among the athletes who worked out indoors on FieldTurf. Jarrod “Pugs” Pughsley, OL (6-foot-4 1/2, 308 pounds) — Pughsley ran the 40-yard dash in 5.29 and 5.32 seconds. He had a 30-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.69 seconds and the three-cone drill in 8.20 seconds. Pughsley, who has 33 1/2-inch arms, performed 34 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Akron has not had a player drafted since 2008, when defensive back Reggie Corner was a fourth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills.

Representatives from eight NFL teams — including assistant coaches from the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers — were present for Youngstown State’s pro day on March 19. The workout was held indoors on FieldTurf, and there were three prospects who could be free-agent pickups following the 2014 NFL Draft. Chris Elkins, G (6-foot-2 1/4, 298 pounds) — Elkins ran the 40-yard dash in 4.97 and 4.99 seconds. He had a 29-inch vertical jump and an 8-foot-9 broad jump. Mike Campanaro, WR (5-foot-9, 187 pounds) — Campanaro stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine, and did a positional workout. The San Diego State football complex was a busy place on March 20, as 11 players from the University of Hawaii held their pro day in the morning and 11 Aztecs players worked out in the afternoon. The workout was held outdoors on FieldTurf. One player from Hawaii has a chance to be a priority free-agent pickup following the 2014 NFL Draft. Tavita Woodard, DE (6-foot-3 3/8, 250 pounds) — Woodard ran the 40-yard dash in 4.70 and 4.74 seconds. He had a 38 1/2-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-9 broad jump. Derek Carr puts himself into first round at pro day

A large crowd that included representatives from all 32 teams gathered for Fresno State’s pro day Thursday. No NFL head coaches were present, but each team had at least two or three reps, including the Vikings, who sent offensive coordinator Norv Turner and general manager Rick Spielman. The star of the show was undoubtedly quarterback Derek Carr, who more than likely played himself into the lower end of the first round. Carr (6-2 1/8, 215 pounds) did an exceptional job, showing off a very, very strong arm in a 72-pass workout. Samford RB records solid numbers

There was one player of note at Samford’s pro day March 13, and that was running back Fabian Truss. The workouts took place in their football stadium on a sunny, 40-degree day. Truss (5-8 5/8, 187 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash twice, and his times were a bit unusual: He ran a 4.49 against the wind and 4.53 with the wind.  He also posted a 31-inch vertical and a 9-6 broad jump. He ran the short shuttle in 4.40 and the three-cone drill in 6.96. He did 16 bench presses. Truss will probably be brought to camp as a free agent.
