After seeing a recent article in the New York Daily News that described gourmet burger chain Red Robin as “a favorite haunt” of Colin Kaepernick, the restaurant decided to return the love. Red Robin took out a full page ad in Thursday’s San Francisco Chronicle newspaper, where CEO Steve Carley addressed a letter to the San Francisco 49ers quarterback. If the Niners win Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday, Red Robin will give Kaepernick free food for life. And fans are invited to get in on this “golden offer” as well. The younger Harbaugh brother coaching in Super Bowl XLVII took some time to chat with reporters after the San Francisco 49ers arrived in New Orleans Sunday evening. NFL.com’s Stacey Dales asked Jim — himself a quarterback in the NFL for 14 years — if he saw any personal qualities reflected in his young starting QB Colin Kaepernick. Harbaugh’s displays of passion during games don’t go unmentioned, but his humor was on display as well in this response: “When Colin’s running … the stride that he has, the gracefulness with his stride, the ground that he covers, how fast and quick he is — reminds me of myself. And then I wake up,” Harbaugh said.
