Report: Ravens interested in Eric Ebron

Baltimore seeks athletic tight end: With the draft just a couple of days away, the rumor mill will continue to pick up speed. The latest is that the Baltimore Ravens are locking in on North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron. Considered the best tight end in this draft class, Ebron could make a dynamic double team with Dennis Pitta in Gary Kubiak’s new offense. It would also mean that the recently signed Owen Daniels could be fighting for a job during training camp. However, this is all contingent upon Ebron still being available when the Ravens select at No. 17 — which is no sure thing. It could take some finagling — or an extreme amount of good fortune — for this pairing to come to fruition.

Manning ‘not 100 percent’: During an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman”Peyton Manning confessed that he’s “not 100 percent compared to what I was before my surgery,” referring to the procedure on his neck that forced him to miss the entire 2011 season. It shouldn’t surprise anyone. After all, Manning recently turned 38 and is entering his 17th season in the league. Any decline is to be expected, but especially after such a serious procedure. Not that anyone has been able to tell. In the two seasons since, the future Hall of Famer has thrown a combined 92 touchdown passes — including an NFL-record 55 last year. There shouldn’t be any concerns about making Manning one of the top three quarterbacks off the board.

Lattimore admits he’s not fully back: When the 49ers drafted Marcus Lattimore in 2013, it was with the hope that a year of rest and rehabilitation could get him back to the explosive ability he showed in college. While the Niners still have hope for Lattimore in 2014, the running back admitted that he’s not fully back — either physically or mentally. After a pair of major knee injuries during his time at South Carolina, it’s understandable if Lattimore is slow in his return. However, he is in a good place to learn and will have a chance to prove himself during training camp and the preseason. Look for Lattimore to have upside as a deep sleeper.
