David Fales of San Jose State could be late-round draft pick

There were representatives from 26 NFL teams present to see 14 prospects work out at San Jose State’s pro day on March 19.

Bene Benwikere, CB (5-foot-11, 189 pounds) — Benwikere ran the 40-yard dash in 4.70 and 4.69 seconds. He then stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine (he was a top performer in his position group in the vertical jump).

David Fales, QB (6-1 3/4, 210) — Fales stood on his numbers from the combine. He looked good throwing the ball at SJSU’s pro day. Fales will likely be a seventh-round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft or a priority free-agent pickup following the conclusion of the draft.

Chandler Jones, WR (5-8 1/2, 183) — Jones ran the 40 in 4.34 and 4.37 seconds. He had a 33 1/2-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-9 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.37 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.78 seconds. He also performed 13 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Jones has size-8 hands (which are on the small side).
