Cardinals, Colts, Jaguars check out McNeese State tight end

Representatives from 17 NFL teams — including tight end coaches from the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars — were present at McNeese State’s pro day on Monday, when eight players worked out outdoors on FieldTurf.

The top attraction for those coaches was tight end Nic Jacobs (6-foot-5, 265 pounds), who was at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jacobs ran the 40-yard dash in 4.78 and 4.87 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-9 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.68 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.47 seconds. He hadn’t been in an offseason training program that is specific to preparing for a pro-day workout, so he didn’t run as well as he probably could.

Jacobs played at LSU in 2011 and 2012 before transferring to McNeese State for the 2013 season.
