There were representatives from eight NFL teams present at West Alabama’s pro day on March 12, when players ran outdoors on FieldTurf in 56-degree temperatures and 10-20 mile-per-hour wind gusts.
Kedrick Rhodes, S (5-foot-10 7/8, 203 pounds) — Rhodes had a really good pro day, as evidenced by his numbers in the workouts. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 and 4.60 seconds. He had a 39-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-5 broad jump. Rhodes ran the short shuttle in 4.11 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.70 seconds. He had 22 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Rhodes is a potential seventh-round draft choice or a priority free-agent possibility at the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Another West Alabama player — safety Demetruce McNeal (6-0 5/8, 190) — worked out at Auburn’s pro day on March 4 (McNeal played at Auburn from 2010-12 before transferring to West Alabama for the 2013 season). McNeal ran the 40 in 4.57 and 4.56 seconds. He had a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-2 broad jump. He ran the short shuttle in 4.33 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.02 seconds.
