Representatives from 25 NFL teams — including Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider — were on hand for Washington’s pro day on Wednesday, when 13 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE (6-foot-5 3/4, 263 pounds) — Seferian-Jenkins had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot and has been unable to work out (he only did the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine). He will be going back to Indianapolis to have another physical.
Bishop Sankey, RB (5-10. 209) — Sankey stood on his numbers from the combine (he was a top performer in his position group in the bench press and broad jump, and the No. 1 performer in his position group in the three-cone drill and short shuttle). He looked very good in the position drills at the pro day, catching the ball well out of the backfield. Sankey was the top running back in the nation at breaking tackles last season. He isn’t a flashy player, but a solid performer with the chance to be the first running back selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Gregory Ducre, DB (5-10 1/4, 183) — Ducre ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 and 4.32 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-6 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.00 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.56 seconds. He performed 17 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Ducre had an impressive workout. This is a player who is a mystery man right now, but will have the 25 NFL teams in attendance scattering to dig out game film to check out who this guy is.
Kevin Smith, WR (5-11 1/2, 208) — Smith ran the 40 in 4.53 seconds on both of his attempts. He had a 37-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-6 broad jump. He had a 4.34-second short shuttle and 6.92-second three-cone time. He also has 10 lifts on the bench press.
