Representatives from 23 NFL teams — including Philadelphia Eagles quarterback coach Bill Musgrave — were present for Wyoming’s pro day on March 13, when nine players worked out indoors on FieldTurf.
Robert Herron, WR (5-foot-9 1/8, 190 pounds) — Herron ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38, 4.37 and 4.35 seconds. He stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine in the vertical and broad jumps, short shuttle and three-cone drill. Herron, who has 9 3/4-inch hands, did position drills with quarterback Brett Smith throwing passes. Herron has a visit scheduled with the New Orleans Saints later this week.
Marqueston Huff, FS (5-11 1/8, 195) — Huff stood on his numbers from the combine (he was a top performer in his position group in the 40-yard dash and short shuttle). Because of his speed, Huff can play both safety and cornerback (he did just that at Wyoming). However, Huff thinks he’s better suited in the NFL at safety.
Brett Smith, QB (6-1 3/8, 205) — Smith ran the 40 in 4.65, 4.60 and 4.59 seconds. He had a 31-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-8 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.18 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.98 seconds. Smith, who has 10-inch hands, performed 18 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Smith and Herron will work out with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday.
