Two potential draft picks work out at Iowa State’s pro day

Representatives from 16 NFL teams were present in Ames, Iowa, for Iowa State’s pro day, where two potential NFL draft picks worked out.

The workout — with the exception of the kicking drills — took place indoors on a FieldTurf playing surface.

Jeremiah George, LB (5-foot-11, 228 pounds) — George ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 and 4.68 seconds. He had a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-9 broad jump (which was more than a foot longer than the 9-8 broad jump posted at the NFL Scouting Combine). George had a good positional workout, but he’s going to have to get bigger to play linebacker in the NFL. He weighed in six pounds lighter at Iowa State’s pro day than he did at the combine.

Kirby Van Der Kamp, P (6-4, 202) — Van Der Kamp punted balls outside in the snow and minus-2 degree temperatures.
