Representatives from 20 NFL teams — including New York Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, Seattle Seahawks wide receivers coach Kippy Brown, and assistants from the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles — were present Friday for Oregon State’s pro day, which was held indoors on FieldTurf.
Brandin Cooks, WR (5-foot-9 3/4, 185 pounds) — Cooks stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine, where he had one of the event’s most impressive performances — blazing a 4.33-second 40-yard dash time as the most notable effort. At Oregon State’s pro day, Cooks caught passes from former Beavers backup Cody Vaz. Cooks has a good chance to be a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Scott Crichton, DE (6-2 5/8, 269) — Crichton stood on his numbers from the combine. Crichton worked at out a pass rusher with his hand in the ground and as a linebacker out in space. Crichton — who is described as a very good competitor — had a good workout, and will likely be a high second-round draft pick.
Rashaad Reynolds, CB (5-10 1/4, 190) — Reynolds did the vertical jump (38 1/2 inches) and stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine. He had a very good on-field workout that likely elevated himself in the draft.
The NFL scouts on hand said that Oregon State had a well-run workout, that head coach Mike Riley was fabulous, and a great breakfast and lunch was served.
