James Sims of Kansas gets audience of 12 NFL teams

Representatives from 12 NFL teams were present to see 15 Jayhawks players work out outdoors on FieldTurf at Kansas’ pro day on Friday.

James Sims, RB (5-foot-10 1/2, 206 pounds) — Sims ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds with the wind and 4.70 against the wind. He had a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-6 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.22 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.21 seconds. Sims looked good catching the ball in position drills.

Sims — a 2013 first-team All-Big 12 selection — finished his college career with 3,592 yards rushing (good for third all time at Kansas) and 34 rushing touchdowns (good for second all time at the school). He will probably be a priority free-agent pickup following the 2014 NFL Draft.
