Jets have interest in Vick?: Thanks to the emergence of Nick Foles, it appears that Michael Vick’s services are no longer needed in Philadelphia. As such, the veteran QB will need to find a new dance partner and it appears the New York Jets could have a hankering to fill the position. A move to New York could provide immediate competition for Geno Smith, something the rookie never faced last season. It would create some jockeying among a pair of players, neither of whom are guaranteed a starting gig next season. Of course, unless Gang Green does something to upgrade its moribund receiving corps, it won’t matter a whole lot from a fantasy perspective.
Raiders impressed by Manziel: The list of suitors for Johnny Manziel might have grown by one. The Oakland Raiders were reportedly quite attentive to the quarterback’s Combine workout. While Rich Gannon might not like the fit, Manziel is an intriguing prospect in Oakland. He possesses the same type of skills as current Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor, with a little more polish. However with the Raiders still in need of filling holes in their offense, Manziel could be more of a dynasty league selection in 2014 if he indeed lands in the Bay Area.
Cousins wants to start: All signs point to Kirk Cousins being stuck in quarterback limbo. Washington’s backup reiterated recently that while he’s happy with the team and the city, he’d like to go somewhere that he can be a starter. That seemed a lot more likely several weeks ago when the talk was that the franchise was exploring possible trade options for Cousins. Lately, however, there has been no indication that Washington is interested in parting with its backup signal-caller. So for now, you can scratch Cousins from your draft plans and keep him in mind as a waiver wire option in the event any issues arise with Robert Griffin III.
