Report: Austin Seferian-Jenkins shelved for pro day

Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins won’t participate in Washington’s April 2 pro day workout due to pending surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot, according to FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt. Doctors at the NFL Scouting Combine discovered Seferian-Jenkins’ injury in Indianapolis last week, causing the former Huskies star to join a number of top tight ends who were unable to perform at their best at the event. Savage: Teddy Bridgewater faces critical pro day

2014 pro days schedule

Between the NFL Scouting Combine and the 2014 NFL Draft, NFL coaches and scouts — not to mention the prospects themselves — turn their attention to the various college pro day workouts. These are not as all-encompassing as the combine, but they are important enough for the key decision-makers in the league to travel around the country for more than a month to watch the talent up close and in person.

Sycamore return specialist works out before combine

Indiana State held its pro day at The SportZone in Indianapolis on Feb. 20, and representatives from 19 teams were on hand to watch a workout for Shakir Bell. Bell (5-foot-5 5/8, 185 pounds), a running back and return specialist for the Sycamores, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 and 4.62 seconds, had a 37-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-1 broad jump, ran a 4.39-second short shuttle and did 13 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Bell figures to be a priority free agent possibility after the 2014 NFL Draft.
