Adrian Peterson could miss Week 15

Peterson in walking boot: It’s not the news fantasy owners wanted and certainly not what Vikings fans wanted to hear, but it looks very unlikely that Adrian Peterson will be able to play this week. The star running back will spend time in a walking boot this week after suffering a foot injury on Sunday. Whether he’ll return at all this season remains to be seen. What it means for fantasy owners is that Toby Gerhart is a name to know off the waiver wire — especially in advance of this week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Harvin still day-to-day: Seattle Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin is being described as “day-to-day” as he continues his recovery from hip surgery. That doesn’t seem to bode well for him playing this week. Even if he does suit up, it’s hard to trust a guy who has barely seen the field this season. It’s even harder to trust that guy against a New York Giants defense that has cracked down on fantasy wideouts this year. Eventually, you’ll have to come to grips with the fact that this is probably a lost season for Harvin.

Tamme an option?: After Wes Welker left Sunday’s win over Tennessee with a concussion, Jacob Tamme played nearly all of the remaining offensive snaps for Denver, per Pro Football Focus. More importantly, Tamme played those snaps in the slot — which is a prime spot in a Peyton Manning-led offense. Playing in that spot, Tamme saw five targets. He converted them into four catches for 47 yards. With a short week, it’s not looking good for Welker to be back in action this week. For fantasy owners scrambling after the loss of Rob Gronkowski, Tamme could be a nice one-week option.
