A massive blizzard hit Philadelphia today, covering Lincoln Financial Field in a thick blanket of snow, at times reaching a height of eight inches (or so I heard). No one, it seemed, informed Eagles running back LeSean McCoy of the conditions. McCoy rushed for a franchise-best 217 yards and two touchdowns to help the Eagles keep their hold on first place in the NFC East with a win over the Detroit Lions. His 34.10 fantasy points made him KABOOM! king for Week 14.
Even with ankle-deep snow, Shady somehow still managed to juke, jump over and flat out embarrass the Lions defense all afternoon, particularly in the fourth quarter. McCoy rushed for a ridiculous 148 yards in the fourth quarter alone — this coming after the Lions defense held the Buccaneers running backs and Packers running backs to 59 combined rushing yards over the previous two weeks!
McCoy has been thriving in Chip Kelly’s offense, and already has over 1,300 rushing yards on the season with three games left to play. This may not be the last time we crown Shady McCoy the KABOOM! king in 2013.
