That Helps No One Week 14: Da’Rick Rogers

Da who? Most fantasy owners were left scratching their heads as Andrew Luck threw two touchdown passes to Da’Rick Rogers as the Colts fell to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. For Rogers, this was his NFL debut after going undrafted inApril, and bouncing between the Buffalo Bills’ and Colts’ practice squads. He delivered an impressive six-catch, 107-yard performance with two touchdown receptions. His individual performance, coupled with the fact that those touchdowns could have gone to T.Y. Hilton or Coby Fleener who were started on countless fantasy teams in the playoffs, was enough to win Rogers the Week 14 That Helps No One award.

Rogers was a highly talented prospect out of Tennessee Tech in the 2013 NFL Draft this April, but plummeted down draft boards because of major character concerns. After all, he started his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee, but was suspended indefinitely for violating team rules before landing with the Golden Eagles. Nevertheless, Da’Rick Rogers had his fans among draft scouts, as #FreeDaRick was spreading around the interwebs during the draft.

So even though he helped no one today, Rogers could be helping Luck and the Colts a lot more down the stretch. Scoop him up off waivers this week if you are in need of a wide receiver. Or if your upcoming opponent in the playoff needs one. The last thing you want is to have your chance at fantasy glory ruined by a That Helps No One award winner.
