Gio Bernard could be back soon after injury

Bernard suffers rib injury: After a two-touchdown game, Giovani Bernard was on the sidelines for the Bengals overtime loss while nursing a rib injury. However NFL Media columnist Mike Silver reports that the rookie back is okay and should be back soon. As the weeks go by, Bernard is taking over from BenJarvus Green-Ellis as the Cincinnati back of choice. Last night’s 22-point performance was Bernard’s fifth double-digit outing this season. It’s been hard to figure the Bengals backs, but if you’re going to roll with one, roll with the rookie.

Harvin out for Week 9: Waiting on Percy Harvin? Keep waiting. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says the receiver won’t play in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I know fantasy owners are itching to get the dynamic playmaker into the lineup — especially in the wake of the season-ending injury to Sidney Rice – but at this point, hold on for another week and prepare for Harvin to make his season debut next week against the Atlanta Falcons, which is an even better matchup.

Spiller ‘good to go': After sitting out last week, Bills running back C.J. Spiller is ready to roll this week, according to head coach Doug Marrone. However, the team is reportedly still deciding who will start at quarterback, choosing between Thad LewisMatt Flynn and Jeff Tuel. That’s probably not as worrisome for fantasy owners as the state of Spiller’s nagging ankle injury, which has limited his ability all season long. Even if Spiller plays this week, a matchup against Kansas City should make fantasy owners hesitant.
