@adamrank would u rather be down by 10 with one player who’s projected to score 10 or up 10 playing against a player projected to get 10

The common wisdom going into Monday night is that you want to be the challenger. There is nothing worse than trying to enjoy your delicious Slice of New York pizza on a Monday, while you constantly check your phone for updates to see those fractional points add up. It’s worse than being a member of the Texas Rangers right now. (And for the record, I’m kind of enjoying this collapse.)
But being the hunter is far more enjoyable. And if you went into Monday night in need of five points from, say, A.J. Green, you had to feel like it was a lock for you. Heck, I had him as the No. 1-rated receiver for the week. There is no way Green could fail here.
Oh yeah, sorry about that.
Green finished with just 41 receiving yards. But he did throw a pretty sweet block on Giovani Bernard‘s touchdown reception. My guess, however, is that you don’t receive points for that in your fantasy league. So you can blame me for that. The karma for not having Calvin Johnson in the top spot each and every week is rather severe.
And please, feel free to share your own tale of woe here in the Monday Nightmare. Consider this one big therapy couch for those of us who lost on Monday night. No gloating, either!
This is the part of the blog page where Rank begs you to follow him on Twitter. It’s rather unbecoming of him.
