Green has scare at practice: Thursday wasn’t a great day for some of fantasy football’s top wide receiver prospects. First there was news that Percy Harvin may have a labrum tear in his hip. Then came word that A.J. Green took an awkward fall in practice. The good news is that this seems less worrisome — especially after Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said he thinks Green will be “fine”. Certainly there will be several stories like this that come out of various camps. But in this case, as long as Lewis and the Bengals aren’t worried, neither are we.
RGIII to go slow for 2-3 weeks: We’re starting to get a little more clarity on how the Redskins will progress quarterback Robert Griffin III through the preseason. It was already known that the second-year stud wasn’t going to play in the preseason, but now it appears that it could be another two or three weeks before he’s practicing at full speed. Obviously the goal is to have Griffin ready to go for the regular season opener — and at this point, there’s no reason to believe he can’t make that happen. The uncertainty has understandably left some fantasy owners a little skittish, but Griffin has plenty of upside heading into 2013.
Belichick vague on Tebow: All is right with the NFL world again — Bill Belichick is answering questions about Tim Tebow. As expected, the Patriots coach wouldn’t tip his hand on what will become of the erstwhile signal-caller. Of course, the opacity of Belichick’s statements will lead to wild speculation that Tebow could do anything from being a change-of-pace quarterback to lining up as a receiver or tight end. Seeing tweets like this one from Albert Breer won’t calm things, either. Our advice: settle down and remember what team this is we’re talking about. It all sounds like a big case of #Belitricks to us.
