Tim Tebow, aka the backup quarterback who wouldn’t die, will reportedly sign a contract with the New England Patriots.
Let’s cut right to the quick here. Tim Tebow has no value as a quarterback. There is no danger he will challenge Tom Brady for snaps. There isn’t much danger of Tebow pushing Ryan Mallet for reps. Could he possibly be an insurance policy for the banged-up tight end duo of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez? Possibly, although Tebow has said in the past that he’s either a QB or nothing.
Then again, there’s always the distinct possibility that Tebow doesn’t even make the roster coming out of training camp.
In essence, Tebow had zero fantasy value as a free agent. He has slightly-more-than-zero fantasy value now.
