Peterson wants bigger role in passing game: In the race to establish themselves as the top running back in fantasy football, it appears Adrian Peterson has taken the lead. At least for now. While Arian Foster was learning he’d miss all of OTAs, the Vikings running back was making a pitch to get more catches. Last season, Peterson caught 40 balls, three short of his career high. Minnesota will need to find a way to get the ball to Greg Jennings, rookie Cordarrelle Patterson and tight end Kyle Rudolph. But the team would be silly if it didn’t find a way to get its best playmaker the ball in space more often.
Manning feeling stronger: Earlier this offseason, Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas said it appeared Peyton Manning was getting stronger. That assessment is getting validation from Eric Decker and Manning himself. You’d think it would be hard for a 37-year old QB to get better after a season in which he nearly set a career-high in passing yards and completion percentage. But with Manning saying he’d like the Broncos offense to play even faster this year and adding a new receiving weapon in Wes Welker, the reports coming out of the Mile High City are making Manning an ever-more attractive option.
Manuel third on Bills depth chart: EJ Manuel might have been the first quarterback off the board in the 2013 NFL Draft, but he’s not exactly No. 1 in the Bills’ hearts right now. The rookie is reportedly behind veterans Kevin Kolb and Tarvaris Jackson in the pecking order. There’s no reason to think Manuel won’t take meaningful snaps before the 2013 season is over, but we probably won’t have a better idea of his true place on the depth chart until training camp. But for now, if you really feel the need to rank a Bills quarterback (though I’m not really sure why you would), Kolb is probably the clubhouse leader.
