Representatives from 18 NFL teams were on hand for Tulane’s pro day on Friday, where six Green Wave players worked out indoors on FieldTurf in the New Orleans Saints’ practice facility.
The Saints had a number of their staff in attendance, and an assistant coach from the Jacksonville Jaguars was also there.
Ryan Griffin, QB (6-foot-3 7/8, 221 pounds) — Griffin ran the 40-yard dash just once, doing so in 5.15 seconds. He had a 25 1/2-inch vertical jump and an 8-foot-5 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.75 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.62 seconds. Griffin earned MVP honors in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game. They said Griffin had a nice workout at Tulane’s pro day.
Bill Johnson, Jr., long snapper (5-11 5/8, 242) — Johnson ran the 40 in 5.24 and 5.30 seconds. He had a 25 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 7-foot-10 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.90 seconds and had a three-cone time of 7.80 seconds. He did a good job of deep snapping the football at the pro day. Johnson’s father, Bill Johnson, is the defensive line coach of the Saints and is an extremely well-like coach in the league.
