Larry Warford could hit Kentucky draft milestone

Representatives from 28 NFL teams gathered at Kentucky’s pro day on March 21, where 15 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf.

The most notable participant was Larry Warford, who has a chance to be the highest-drafted offensive lineman from Kentucky since Dermontti Dawsona 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee — was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1988 NFL Draft.

Warford (6-foot-3 1/8, 329 pounds) stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Warford currently stands at No. 45 in my Hot 100 draft prospect rankings.

These two prospects are rookie free-agent possibilities …

Collins Ukwu, DE (6-3 7/8, 257) — Ukwu ran the 40-yard dash in 4.94 and 4.95 seconds. He had a 31 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-5 broad jump. He had a short shuttle time of 4.52 seconds and did the three-cone drill in 7.22 seconds. He threw the bar up 16 times on the bench press (225 pounds).

Matt Smith, C (6-3 3/8, 296) — Smith was only able to do the bench press, throwing up the bar 28 times. His workout came to a halt when he pulled a hamstring while running the 40.
