AUSTIN, Texas — Representatives from 30 NFL teams gathered at Texas’ pro day on Tuesday, where 12 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert, Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and defensive line coach Jay Hayes, and New York Jets defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman were the notables on hand for the workout.

Unfortunately, Kenny Vaccaro — the top-rated safety in Mike Mayock‘s draft position rankings — was limited at the pro day after tweaking a hip flexor during a private workout for an NFL team. Vaccaro won’t do the runs or jump, but did go through the position drills. Vaccaro is a projected first-round draft pick.

Marquise Goodwin, WR (5-9, 177) — Goodwin is a world-class track and field athlete, and is a two-time NCAA champion (and Texas record-holder) in the long jump and a four-time All-American. Not surprisingly, he posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine (officially at 4.27 seconds). At Texas’ pro day, Goodwin recorded a 42-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-5 broad jump (topping his combine number of 11-foot-0).

Alex Okafor, DE (6-4 3/4, 262) — Okafor — who did not run at the combine — ran the 40 in 4.88 and 4.89 seconds. He had a 36-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-4 broad jump. He also had a 4.40-second short shuttle time. Okafor is the fifth-rated 4-3 defensive end in Mayock’s positional rankings.

D.J. Monroe, return specialist (5-7 3/4, 175) — Monroe ran the 40 in 4.38 and 4.40 seconds. He had a 36-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-11 broad jump. He posted a time of 4.53 seconds in the short shuttle. Monroe returned three kickoffs for touchdowns in his Longhorns career, and could be a rookie free-agent pickup following the 2013 NFL Draft.

Goodwin, Okafor and Vaccaro were each invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Following the workout, scouts were treated to a feast provided by Bert’s BBQ of Austin. This is a tradition for the scouts attending Texas’ pro day. Not only do the scouts get to see good football players but they eat good, too.
