Representatives from 24 NFL teams gathered at Virginia’s pro day on March 13, where 12 players went through a workout indoors on FieldTurf at a brand-new facility on the school’s campus.
Oday Aboushi, OT (6-foot-5 3/8, 310 pounds) — Aboushi — who was at the NFL Scouting Combine — ran the 40-yard dash in 5.41 and 5.42 seconds. He performed 21 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. He’s strong, but probably will need to be moved inside to play guard in the NFL.
Perry Jones, RB (5-7 3/4, 192 — Jones — who was not at the combine — ran the 40 just once due to a strained right quadricep muscle and was timed in 4.59 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.28 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.15 seconds. He had 20 lifts on the bench. Jones is a possible rookie free-agent pickup by a team following the 2013 NFL Draft.
