Representatives from 13 NFL teams gathered at the pro day held at Minnesota on March 4, where nine Golden Gophers and 11 other players from various smaller schools in the area went through a workout held indoors on FieldTurf.
MarQueis Gray, QB (6-foot-3 3/8, 239 pounds) — Gray ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 and 4.67 seconds, and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. At Minnesota’s pro day, Gray first worked out as a quarterback (which he also did at the combine), and then also worked out as a wide receiver and tight end (Gray made starts as both a quarterback and receiver in his career with the Golden Gophers).
Troy Stoudermire, CB (5-9 5/8, 199) — Stoudermire — who was not invited to the combine — had a 35-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot broad jump. He posted times of 4.19 seconds in the short shuttle and 6.99 seconds in the three-cone drill. He also performed 19 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. He looked impressive in his drills, and might have worked his way into sixth- or seventh-round consideration in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Terrell Sinkfield, Northern Iowa WR (6-0 1/8, 199) — Sinkfield ran the 40 in 4.33, 4.36 and 4.38 seconds (initially, 4.19 was his reported 40 time). The 13 teams present determined Sinkfield’s official 40 time, and that time goes out to all the teams. Sinkfield also had a 40 1/2-inch vertical and 11-foot-5 broad jump, a 4.18-second short shuttle and 6.94-second three-cone drill, and had 12 strength lifts of 225 pounds on the bench. Sinkfield looked good in the receiver drills.
