Representatives from 30 NFL teams gathered at the pro day held at California, where 16 players went through a workout held outdoors on FieldTurf in beautiful weather in Berkeley.
The entire coaching staff of the Oakland Raiders was in attendance, as was Minnesota Vikings wide receivers coach George Stewart.
Keenan Allen, WR (6-foot-2 1/2, 214 pounds) — Allen is dealing with both a knee problem and a hamstring issue. He caught the ball while stationary from Stewart. Allen is scheduled to have a separate workout in Greensboro, N.C. on April 9.
C.J. Anderson, RB (5-8 1/2, 219) — Anderson ran the 40 in 4.52 and 4.56 seconds, and had a 33-inch vertical jump. He had a good workout, catching the ball well in the position drills. He is described as a third running back on an NFL team’s depth chart.
Marc Anthony, CB (5-11 3/4, 196) — Anthony ran the 40 in 4.65 and 4.64 seconds, and will stand on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Anthony’s pro day 40 time wasn’t as good as the one he ran in Indianapolis, so the combine time will stand as his 40 of record with NFL teams.
Brian Schwenke, C (6-3 3/8, 323) — Schwenke, as well as the other linemen at the pro day, did not work out in the positional drills. Schwenke stood by his numbers from the combine.
Steve Williams, CB (5-9 1/4, 182) — Williams stood by his combine numbers. He did positional drills. Williams is a good NFL prospect, but his lack of height will hold him down some in the 2013 NFL Draft. He’s a likely fifth- or sixth-round pick.
