Desmond Trufant continued his stellar NFL audition as representatives from 10 NFL teams gathered at the pro day held at Washington on Wednesday.
Trufant was one of seven players who went through a workout held indoors on FieldTurf.
Trufant (5-foot-11 5/8, 192 pounds), a cornerback, did the three-cone drill in 6.76 seconds and stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Trufant’s workout was phenomenal, and I would imagine that he’s knocking on the door to be a late first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. In the last couple of months, Trufant — the brother of Seattle Seahawks 2003 first-round pick Marcus Trufant — has impressed at the Senior Bowl, combine and now at his pro day to continue a rapid rise up draft boards.
Seattle Seahawks linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars defensive backs coach DeWayne Walker and Indianapolis Colts secondary coach Mike Gillhamer were among those on hand to witness the workout.
