Representatives from 28 NFL teams gathered at Syracuse’s pro day on March 7, where nine players participated in a workout that was held indoors on FieldTurf.
Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix, Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden and New York Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg were the notable presentatives from NFL teams.
Ryan Nassib, QB (6-foot-2 1/8, 228 pounds) — Nassib stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. He has 10 1/2-inch hands, which is a really good hand size for a quarterback, especially if he winds up being selected by an outdoor team in the 2013 NFL Draft. Nassib has two visits scheduled with NFL teams.
Alec Lemon, WR (6-1 1/4, 200) — Lemon had a 36-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-8 broad jump, and then decided to stand on the rest of his numbers from the combine. Lemon looked good catching the ball from Nassib in the positional workout.
Shamarko Thomas, SS (5-9, 214) — Thomas kept his numbers from the combine, with the exception of the three-cone drill (6.84 seconds).
Justin Pugh, OT (6-4 3/4, 304) — Pugh kept his numbers from the combine, with the exception of the bench press (22 strength lifts of 225 pounds).
Marcus Sales, WR (6-0 1/4, 191) — Sales was not invited to the combine. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.60 and 4.56 seconds. He had a 4.31-second short shuttle time and a 6.96-second three-cone drill. Sales had a 30 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-7 broad jump.
