Representatives from 13 NFL teams gathered at Massachusetts’ pro day on March 4, where nine players worked out. Due to frigid weather conditions, the pro day was moved inside the New England Patriots’ bubble practice field.
Stephane Milhim, OT (6-foot-3 7/8, 300 pounds) — Milhim ran the 40-yard dash in 5.15 and 5.14 seconds, had a 4.75-second short shuttle and a 7.72-second three-cone drill. He had a 32-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-1 broad jump. A left shoulder surgery prevented him from participating in the bench press. Milhim dropped 14 pounds since the NFL Scouting Combine, which factored into him posting faster times in the runs than in Indy.
Two notable players who weren’t invited to the combine, but could become priority rookie free-agent signings this spring, also worked out.
Mike Cox, RB (5-11 7/8, 220) — Cox — ran the 40 in 4.63 and 4.58 seconds, had a 38-inch vertical and 10-7 broad jump, a 4.09-second short shuttle and 6.87-second three-cone drill. Cox performed 24 strength lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press, and looked good in the positional workout.
Darren Thellen, S (6-1 7/8, 210) — Thellen ran the 40 in 4.64 and 4.58 seconds, had a 4.24-second short shuttle time and a 7.03-second three-cone drill. He jumped 34 inches in the vertical and 10-0 in the broad. Thellen also had 13 lifts on the bench.
