Sanchez to start vs. Bills: File this one under “Full Circle”. With Greg McElroy recovering from concussion symptoms, the Jets have returned to Mark Sanchez as the team’s starting quarterback. Normally this wouldn’t warrant much attention for fantasy football purposes (at this point it’s actual football value rises only slightly about the level of farce), except the Jets are finishing their season against the woeful Buffalo Bills. It was against that same squad that Sanchez scored 20.64 fantasy points way back in Week 1 — by far his best performance of the season. No word yet on how Tim Tebow feels about the situation.
Manning expected to play full game: As Week 17 approaches, the big question is which stars will sit and which ones will play. You can add Peyton Manning to the list of guys who will see four quarters of action. According to the Denver Post, the Broncos have no plans to rest their starters in Sunday’s regular season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. Much of that has to do with Denver’s opportunity to claim home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Regardless of the reason, it means fantasy owners can start Manning with confidence that he’ll be on the field long enough to help them claim a league championship.
Gronkowski still not cleared: New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski hasn’t played since Week 11 and is still waiting to see if he’ll suit up in Week 17. Gronk says he still hasn’t been cleared by doctors to return from a broken forearm while the team is treating it as a day-to-day situation. If Gronkowski can’t play, it once again means a heavy dose of Aaron Hernandez. But if the big guy can go, he should be in your lineup.
