With Saturday Night Live announcing they’d be turning to Twitter and Facebook for host ideas in the near future, we wanted to join in the fun. So here’s a list of five players we feel would be perfect candidates for hosting Saturday Night Live:

Steve Johnson
————————————————————————————————————————————–
From his hilarious and sometimes questionable touchdown dances to his colorful post-game comments, Steve Johnson is primed for the spotlight and a hosting gig on SNL. Plus, it’s about time the other team in New York got some love. Johnson could outshine the wooden Eli Manning as host and turn the spotlight in New York to Buffalo for a bit.

Arian Foster
————————————————————————————————————————————–
Between his active, and often humorous Twitter account, and his ability to wise-crack in interviews, Arian Foster seems to have what it would take to excel as a host. Besides, who wouldn’t love to see SNL spoof that “Can I have your hat?” commercial? It appears Foster’s getting a ton of love on Twitter from that commercial already.

Robert Griffin III
————————————————————————————————————————————–
With a guest appearance on The League already under his belt, and starring in what seems to be every other commercial on TV these days, the Rookie of the Year candidate could easily slide into a hosting gig on SNL. An Outkast parody would assuredly be on the horizon given RG3’s resemblance to Andre 3000. Let’s hope we’re given the chance to see it happen.
————————————————————————————————————————————–
Rob Gronkowski
————————————————————————————————————————————–
Known for his antics both on and off the field, Rob Gronkowski is as close to a sure thing as an SNL hosting hit as you can find in the NFL. Love him or hate him, there’s no doubt that Gronk would light up the SNL stage. Plus, if he lets the writers use his personal exploits for content ideas, the results could be legendary.
————————————————————————————————————————————–
Aaron Rodgers
————————————————————————————————————————————–
The reigning NFL MVP has slowly worked his way into the mainstream media, thanks in large part to his State Farm “Discount Double Check” commercials. His dead-pan delivery and natural charisma would lend themselves well to hosting. And let’s not forget, he’s a guitarist with his own record label. Can you say SNL Digital Short? You heard us Lonely Island.
