Monday Nightmare: Jamaal Charles comes through

If you know anything about me, you know I love to play guys on Monday night. Well, unless they play for the Kansas City Chiefs. I needed just 4.53 points from Jamaal Charles on Monday night, and to be honest, I didn’t think I was going to get it. Seriously, my fantasy week wasn’t so much dependent on Charles having a decent night, but more to the point, I needed Romeo Crennel to remember Charles was on his team.

So you can understand my anxiety.

You can understand my enthusiasm when Charles rushed for nine yards on the first play from scrimmage. At least the Chiefs were determined to get him involved in the offense this week. My enthusiasm gave way to euphoria when Charles busted through the goal line very early in the game. (Sort of, there was always the risk of fumbles. You wish you could take a fantasy knee at some point. That’s something else for me to work on as president.)

The score held up and I got a much-needed win in my league of record (against my longtime friends from Corona, Calif.). Of course the Steelers defense did enough to erase a small deficit to allow Mike Fabiano to beat me in the NFL Experts League, but I can’t get too greedy. The league of record is the league of record, right?

So I really don’t have a tale of woe for you, but check out this poor guy.

Or what about him?

Oh, and if you have Ben Roethlisberger, you might want to add Carson Palmer or Ryan Tannehill this week. But we will have more on that this week.

Well, even though I stand victorious tonight, I am still here for you. Consider this one big fantasy couch for you to share your tales of woe. You’re among friends here. Let it all out. You’ll feel much better once you share.

For the record, you can submit your fantasy questions to NFL Fantasy Live, Michael Fabiano or me on Twitter. But realize, NFL Fantasy Live has 85,000 followers, and Fabiano has nearly 100k. Me? Just four. See, the odds are better I will answer your question, so hit me up both via Twitter or via Facebook (oh wait, I told you to stop going to Facebook). Go instead to Google+. Also be sure to catch the latest “Dave Dameshek Football Program.”
