Monday Nightmare: Where was Andre Johnson?
Adam Rank | Tags: Monday Nightmare, Andre Johnson
There were two surprising things about Monday night’s game at the Meadowlands. One, the New York Jets were surprisingly competitive. Not too surprising. We were making our jokes about the Jets’ offense on NFL Fantasy Live on Monday. But even so, I reasoned, these are the kind of games where the Jets could make things interesting.
But nobody (outside my buddy Mark D.) was starting any member of the Jets in any fantasy league, I presume, so that didn’t really matter.
The biggest development was the lack of offense from Dre Johnson. The Houston Texans star receiver put up just 1.5 points, a small figure for a close game. You understood the risk going into the game, perhaps the Texans would get out to such a large, early lead, the Texans’ passing attack would be removed. But Dre being a non-factor in a close game? Nobody saw that coming.
Especially not my man, Akbar Gbajabiamila who needed 17 points to knock me off in our experts league.
I need 17.2 points from Andre Johnson to beat @adamrank in our #NFLfantasy expert league . Do you think I’ll get it?

Better luck next time, Akbar. Actually, I don’t mean that. Worse luck next time. But what about you, did Dre Johnson cost you in your league? Did Arian Foster‘s night beat you? Consider this one big fantasy therapy session. Tell us your tales of woe. You’ll feel better once you do. Just like these folks.
@adamrank WORST FANTASY NIGHT EVER!!! HOU scored enough to beat me in 1 lg but just short to get me a win in another…lost it by 0.06!

The nice thing, Admiral Akbar remained realistic right to the very end.
@jkyletilley @adamrank I just need 3 Redzone targets

For the record, you can submit your fantasy questions to NFL Fantasy Live, Michael Fabiano or me on Twitter. But realize, NFL Fantasy Live has 70,000 followers, and Fabiano has 60,000. Me? Just 13. See, the odds are better I will answer your question, so hit me up both via Twitter or via Facebook (oh wait, I told you to stop going to Facebook). Go instead to Google+. Also be sure to catch the latest “Dave Dameshek Football Program.”
