Tim Tebow told reporters on Friday that New York is his city (or more accurately, Hoboken was not his city). And while many anticipate him eventually laying claim to the Jets’ starting quarterback job, Mark Sanchez put that notion to rest (at least for a week) with a strong performance over the Bills in Week 1.

How impressive was Sanchez? His oft-rumored girlfriend Eva Longoria came out and admitted she and Sanchez are an item during an interview with Mario Lopez on “Extra.” And let that sink in for a moment: We are now breaking news thanks to Slater from “Saved by the Bell.” (And perhaps another twist of coincidence: Lopez’s A.C. Slater wore No. 6 for Bayside High.)

So things are looking up for Sanchez.

And in non-related dating news, Olympian Lolo Jones confirmed (via USA Today) she is not dating Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh because, well, nobody loves the Lions. Just kidding. The real reason Jones won’t commit to Suh is because she’s part of the Tebow Admirer Matrix.

Which means, we could soon have a budding rivalry with Longoria.
