It’s not very often that news of a player being suspended would actually help their fantasy football value. But in Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt‘s case, it was welcomed news given how bad it could have been. Britt has had his share of off-field incidents since his college days, so it came as some surprise when NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday the Rutgers product would be suspended for one game.
What makes things even better, Britt will have yet another week to rest his surgically repaired knees. For fantasy football owners, you can now draft Britt with confidence knowing he won’t be missing much time. His current ADP of 104.98 is sure to see improvement given the news, so expect him to be selected far higher than his current 11th-round spot.
The biggest loser in this situation likely will be rookie wideout Kendall Wright, who has had a solid camp and preseason lining up opposite Nate Washington. Expect the Baylor product to see a lesser workload now that he should officially be the Titans’ No. 3 wideout. Britt’s return could also bolster the value of Washington, given that teams will be focused on keeping the dynamic Britt contained. Washington should see plenty of single-coverage as a result, and his rapport with Jake Locker will pay dividends.
