Every team seeks consistency on the football field.
The Kansas City Chiefs could follow the lead of general manager Scott Pioli, who is nothing if not consistent in talking circles around the Dwayne Bowe holdout situation.
Pioli joined “NFL AM” on Tuesday morning and again reiterated his desire to steer clear from making any comment that could be misconstrued by the media.
“I think for everybody involved I have to remain consistent on that, and I want to remain consistent on that because talking about it really can’t help anyone, do anyone any good,” he said.
Bowe’s only options at this point are to sit out the season or sign his $9.5 million franchise tender. Pioli, however doesn’t want to say anything that could be construed as a leverage play.
“It’s a situation when I can say something that is seemingly innocuous and unfortunately it might be taken and spun into something else,” he said. “Dwayne will be here when Dwayne wants to be here.”
