Calvin Broadus, Jr., better known as rapper Snoop Dogg, stopped by “NFL Total Access” to give his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, a nudge in its current contract squabble with receiver Mike Wallace.
“Hey, Rooney, man get ya’ll things together, pay the man,” Snoop said, channeling his inner Deion Sanders.
Steelers General manager Kevin Colbert confirmed Thursday that the team broke off negations until the wide receiver signs his restricted free-agent tender and reports to training camp.
“I know he ain’t proven, three, four years in the game, but we need him,” Snoop said.
The speedy Wallace finished 11th in the league in receiving yards with 72 receptions for 1,193 yards, but only out distanced his counterpart, Antonio Brown, by 3 catches and 89 yards.
Snoop points to Wallace’s ability to blow the cover off defenses in his plea for management to come to an agreement with the receiver.
“You tell me somebody else that do what he do.” Snoop said. “We need him, get it together ya’ll, go and have that conversation and the get the apples and oranges together so we can move on.”
